The Careers Leader Handbook launch

The Careers Leader Handbook launch

Last week saw the book launch event for The Careers Leader Handbook, the practical guide to creating an outstanding careers programme for your school or college.

This new title is designed to support careers leaders in response to the new statutory guidance for every school to have a named Careers Leader from September 2018, and to start working towards meeting all of the eight Gatsby Benchmarks.

To launch the handbook, Authors David Andrews and Tristram Hooley were joined by careers professionals, along with Claudia Harris, Chief Executive of The Careers & Enterprise Company and Jan Ellis, Chief Executive of the Career Development Institute (CDI).

David Andrews told us “We are really pleased to see the new Government policy that all schools and colleges should identify a careers leader and, further, that money is being made available to fund training for this key role. We want the Handbook to be the go-to reference for careers leaders and for those people leading the training programmes.”

David and Tristram are currently also running a series of webinars and workshops for careers leaders, related to this new title and the Gatsby benchmarks.
