Ian Stannard

Ian Stannard is currently the House Parent of a large girl’s house at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham. He was, for over a decade the Head of Careers and Higher Education. This role involved managing the applications of our sixth form, advising the Year 9 and 11 students about GCSE and A level options and promoting alternatives to the traditional route into Higher Education too. He has published books on student finance, UCAS applications, personal statements, and interview techniques. His is particularly interested in widening participation and supporting children and families who are attending university for the first time. He also enjoys educating parents about the myths of higher education and endorsing the new Degree Apprenticeships that have evolved in recent year. He has also worked to establish an SAT centre and work with overseas students who wish to apply to UK universities.
