Editorial Intern

(4-month contract, remote)

Trotman is the UK’s leading careers publisher, creating and publishing inspiring books and digital resources about education, careers and careers training for students, teachers and career development professionals.

About the job

Trotman Publishing is seeking an editorial intern to join our small, friendly, home-based team on a 4-month contract commencing in February 2026.

Offering comprehensive overviews of hundreds of careers, the new edition will include a special focus on sustainable careers. Working alongside one of our editors, the successful applicant will be responsible for updating content for the book, carefully researching information in order to edit existing copy and write new copy, as well as accurately loading information onto a database.

In addition, the successful candidate will spend approximately one day a week carrying out a variety of editorial, marketing, sales and administrative support tasks, many of which are typically undertaken by an editorial, marketing or sales assistant. They will also take part in weekly virtual meetings with the wider Trotman team and be invited to attend regular in-person company meetings.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for valuable experience in publishing, particularly in a busy, hands-on publishing team.

· Strong organisation and time-management skills

· Ability to work independently and use own initiative

· Self-motivated and conscientious when faced with repetitive tasks

· Proficiency in conducting research and fact-checking

· Good communication skills, both written and spoken

· Aptitude for writing clear, accurate and engaging copy

· Enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
