Peter J. Robertson
Pete Robertson is Professor of Career Guidance at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. He teaches career theory, policy and professionalism to trainee guidance practitioners. He has worked in the career guidance field since 1987 as a practitioner, educator and researcher.
Pete is the Chair and a Fellow of the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling (NICEC), a learned society. He was President of the Career Development Institute (CDI) for two years (2024-2025). He is a Chartered Psychologist, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), and a member of the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG).
Pete's research interests include service evaluation, the relationship between career and mental well-being, and employment support for disadvantaged groups.
