Standout CVs, but so much more.

This guide is a must for any job seeker. Whether youre starting your journey; looking for a career change or just want to update your CV, this guide has something for you. Its broken down into five parts (researching you; matchmaking; devising your CV; using your CV; and additional resources) which cover how to create your CV, but also encourage self-reflection and ways to utilise your CV. Its an informative guide which you can easily dip in and out of, depending on your needs. The In A Nutshell boxes at the end of each section helpfully summarise the main points and the quote boxes provide insights, advice, and examples from experts. Standout CVs is very accessible and easy to use whether you read it cover-to-cover or just dip in and out. Its appropriate for both young people and adults. The updates and mention of AI means this guide is particularly relevant for today's job seekers. It covers everything you need to create a fantastic CV and hear the words: Youre hired!

At last! A genuinely practical guide to CV development that embraces AI

Standout CVs is the perfect guide to read because Corinne Mills actively works in the employability field and fully understands the art of modern CV writing.

The book is clearly laid out in 19 easy to understand chapters that follow the logical process of creating or revising your CV in a way that is now required by employers and recruitment agencies. I particularly found useful the new sections featuring ways to embrace AI in aspects of CV writing such as researching required competencies or helping to write an attention-grabbing career profile.

The book features simple and effective free activity downloads to help you gather the right evidence for your CV to conducting market research on the employer. I particularly like chapter 13 which features different CV samples for people facing career challenges such as changing career, leaving school or seeking a role in a technical profession.

I highly recommend this guide for anyone seeking to understand how a CV needs to be written in todays competitive employment market, and the advice gained from the book will give the reader an advantage over other applicants.
